This weekend was FANTASTIC! My husband and I are expecting our first bundle of joy, a baby boy in the middle of April. As I am now 28 weeks (aka 7 months), we both feel the urge to get baby ready ASAP while I am still able to help out.
That being said, the carpet of our 2007 home was not pretty. The previous owners were a little negligent and since we have indoor dogs, the need to have a cleaner environment for a newborn was pressing on us. We needed an option that was cost effective, quick, and would allow flexibility should we choose to re-tile the entire house.
We decided to rip the carpet out and paint the concrete!
It took us three days to do so, given that I had some things I already planned (an open house Friday and teach two group fitness classes on Saturday). Alas, while I wasn’t home, Victor ripped out the carpet. Apart from that, we did EVERYTHING else together.
Below is a picture of the before and after.
I just want you to know that this too can be in your near future! Both my husband and I agreed that painting the concrete floor was easier than painting the walls, though there is much more prep work at first.
The YouTube videos that we used as a guide throughout the process can be found below for your convenience.
Onward, I say to you my fellow Weekend Warriors and DIYers! I look forward to seeing the improvements you make to your home!
