Most people opt for a home inspection when buying a resale home because they want to know exactly what they are buying. I most certainly always encourage a home inspection, as the only surprises I like are pleasant ones, not ones that could result in $10,000 worth of work!
Yet, when it comes to new builds, some people are almost surprised that a home inspection is even brought up by their realtor, given the fact that the house is new! Nonetheless, how many times have we bought something new: a car, video game, clothes, etc, etc only to find there was something wrong with it?
You may see where I am going with this now. A home inspection is always recommended, even for a new build, because you want to ensure that the house in good condition. It is also a good way to cover your bases.
There have been instances where roofs have leaked on brand new homes! Don’t let yourself be caught in that situation and get a home inspection.
