We terminated our rental agreement 1 month before it expired because we finally found our home, AND we had given enough notice so that we were able to get one month’s rent back PLUS our deposit!
It was the first time we had ever terminated a lease, and it was something we hadn’t planned to do. However, we started planning and were prepared several months in advance, so when it came down to it, we were ready when we found the perfect home for us! It just made “cents”! It was much cheaper in the short run since we were able to start investing in our home versus someone else’s property. In addition, it was cheaper in the long run to obtaining a great interest rate, meaning that we did not have to sacrifice buying less home due to high interest rates!
In short, the Boo (my nickname for my husband) and I went housing hunting in October and moved into our home on December, 12th.
The great thing is that this can also be YOU!
