Anyone close to me knows I am a HUGE Downton Abbey fan! In fact, I will never understand anyone who IS NOT a fan! And if you're reading this and haven't watched yet...you are MISSING OUT! There is so much to this show that pulls you in. From the drama with the aristocratic family to the intrigue with their help that live "downstairs". Not to mention the romance, suspense, fashion, and incredibly accurate portrayal of what life was like in the early 1900's for families of all economic backgrounds. But if I'm being totally honest-- what pulls me in EVERY WEEK is the HOUSE.
Look at this masterpiece! To us fans it is known as Downton Abbey ( that's DownTON, not downTOWN) -- just for clarification. But this estate is actually Highclere Castle. It is the home of the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon. Yes, someone actually lives here!! (ahem, only slightly jealous.) The grounds are magnificent and the interior is STUNNING. It is hard to imagine living in an estate like this. Seems like a DREAM!
However, it got me thinking. What WOULD it be like? Imagine all the work that goes into keeping the home up? What goes into maintaining the 1000 acres? Who's in charge of the gardens, the topiaries, the trees??? Not to mention inside the castle-- who cleans it?
So I did a little research.....here are the stats on this BEAUTY:
* 120,000 square feet (yes that's not a typo)
* 50-60 Bedrooms
* Double Library
* Dining Room
* Saloon (what is that anyway?)
* Sitting Room, servants quarters, stables......the list goes on and on!
* And finally... drum roll please... 25-30 BATHROOMS!!
Okay, so it makes perfect sense why a huge staff is required to maintain this gorgeous house. Because there is NO WAY I'm scrubbing 30 toilets each week on my own! ;)
But it doesn't mean we can't have a piece of this lifestyle. Owning a home and land is a DREAM we can ALL achieve! As I sit here in my home office, thinking of how blessed I am to own my 2500 sq ft, 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom ESTATE..... (yes, I call it an estate. Because why not?) I wonder how many people are out there dreaming of owning their first home. Or dreaming of upgrading as their family grows? Or perhaps some are looking forwad to downsizing once the kiddos move on to college and pursuing their own dreams!
I truly do have the best career in the WORLD. It is such an honor to help people find their castle! Here are some GORGEOUS, just listed homes in Surprise that would be very suitable for all the Arizona Lords and Ladies!!

Can you believe how fast this year is passing by?! I recall telling my
"I had tried working with other realtors before purchasing my first home with Michelle, and she was by far the most knowledgeable of the market, professional and a pleasure to work with. She has a great personality and superb negotation skills! The seller of my home was difficult to deal with(to put it mildly), and she knew exactly how to handle it to make sure the deal closed. I had a tight deadline as I had to be moved out of my apartment by a certain date and our days were limited on making it happen. On top of that my first lender made a mistake on my loan underwriting file, and I had to QUICKLY find another alternative and Michelle had the professional network to make it happen. When I go to sell my home or buy another, Michelle and her team will be getting my business again!"
